A “Snack” Poem

A mozzarella stick,

a triscuit,

hummus.

Soft

crunch.

A mushy

and dairy

salt.

I slide on tahini

in a cup,

and fly to the heaven of my palate.

Present in the ordinary,

I become a bliss of simplicity

–enlightened in a moment

of appetizers

in between

verses.

Three tasty treats

pulling me into the ecstatic moment

in which a snack

becomes a poem.
